SSI's Pre-Load 4500 Series stationary compactors feature three single stage cylinders designed to form one high density square ended bale. It is the optimum solution for high volume facilities needing to transfer municipal solid waste, recyclables, or other commodities into highway and intermodal trailers or containers.

The 4500 is offered in two compaction cylinder configurations, a standard 4500 and the 4500 SPH. The SPH version is designed for customers requiring higher compaction forces afforded by one 16" and two 11" diameter cylinders. With 7 feet of platen extension into a container or trailer, the 4500 compactor can place the compacted bale further forward in order to maximize truck axle loading.

By using double acting, single stage cylinders, SSI provides a regenerative control system that extends cylinders at a high rate of speed when under low load conditions. Ultimately, this increases throughput for the same horsepower of other compaction systems.
